Upgraded medical, dental clinic opens for Marines and Sailors at Marine Corps Air Station New River

JACKSONVILLE, North Carolina — Marine Corps Air Station New River has a brand new, state-of-the-art medical and dental facility for Marines and Sailors attached to 2nd Marine Air Wing. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune celebrated the opening of the new Marine Centered Medical Home (MCMH) New River with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 26, 2024.

Navy Commander Matthew Behil was selected earlier this year to promote to the rank of Captain. Behil serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, leading the clinic’s Optometry Department.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Officer Selections to Navy Captain

MCAS Cherry Point — Three officers serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point were selected to promote to the rank of Navy Captain earlier this year.

Hospital Corpsman Third Class Caleb Nelson promoted to the rank during a ceremony held Friday, July 12 aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point. Nelson serves aboard the clinic in the Materials Management Department.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates Staff Promotions

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and civilians serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the promotion of two staff members Friday, July 12.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Rylie Maloney is the first military applicant to receive an Optician’s License from the state of North Carolina after passing the American Board of Opticianry exam in early summer, 2024. Maloney, a native of Soddy Daisy, Texas, serves aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point as the Optometry Leading Petty Officer, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility’s Optometry Clinic serving Active-Duty Marines and Sailors assigned to the base, their families and beneficiaries in the surrounding communities.

Cherry Point Sailor First to Receive Optician’s License from State of North Carolina

MCAS Cherry Point — A Sailor serving aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point is the first military applicant to receive an Optician’s License from the state of North Carolina.

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated excellence in patient care and technical expertise while bidding fond farewells at an awards ceremony conducted Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

United States Navy Captain Anja Dabelić makes history at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune as the first woman to lead the Medical Center since its establishment as a haven for care some 80 years ago. Dabelić assumed directorship of the facility and command of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Camp Lejeune on May 21, 2024.

Staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point celebrated the retirement of a Chief Petty Officer and the accomplishments of Sailors and civilians during a ceremony conducted Wednesday, May 29 aboard the Clinic. New commander and director welcomed at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) hosted a Change of Command and Directorship ceremony on May 21, 2024, at Marston Pavilion aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The ceremony is a formal tradition symbolizing the transfer of total responsibility, authority, and accountability from one officer to another.
