The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Health Services

Optometry

Optometry provides operational and readiness vision and eye health support to Osan and Kunsan Air Bases, including medical readiness equipment such as gas mask inserts, aircrew laser eye protection, occupation laser exam, night vision goggle, vision readiness screening, eye waiver exams, initial flying physical support, and the aircrew contact lens program. Routine eye exams are also available daily on a limited basis when readiness and operational needs are met.

  • Services include visual acuity screening for medical readiness, updating the vision section of MEDPROS, and aircrew in-processing are available during normal duty days between 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.
