Chief Petty Officers, past and present, were commended for their leadership and commitment to excellence during the event which involved a ceremonial cake cutting.

Cherry Point Clinic Celebrates 131st Chief Petty Officer Birthday

MCAS Cherry Point — Sailors and staff serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry point celebrated the 131st Birthday of the Chief Petty Officer during a ceremony held Monday, April 1 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Lt. Amanda Gwyn will attend the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland as a participant in the Navy’s Duty Under Instruction Program to earn a PhD in Nursing Sciences and become a professional nurse researcher. Gwyn served aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point from September 2020 to March 2024, ending her tenure here as the Department Head for the Readiness, Immunizations and Marine Centered Medical Homeport clinics.

Cherry Point Nurse Departs to Earn PhD in Nursing Sciences

MCAS Cherry Point — A Navy Nurse who served aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point recently departed to pursue her passion and become a professional nurse researcher through the Navy’s Duty Under Instruction Program.

Cherry Point Sailors Recognized for Assisting Fellow Sailor

MCAS Cherry Point — Two Sailors serving aboard Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point received recognition for their actions assisting a fellow Sailor in need.

MCAS Cherry Point — Leaders aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point marked the inauguration of a resource improving the method and manner Marines, Sailors and beneficiaries receive prescriptions aboard the base.

Honduran patient regains use of finger following successful operation by Navy Medicine surgeons

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — A Honduran man injured in an accident regained motion in his left index finger after two surgeons with Expeditionary Medical Unit (EMU) 10 G-Rotation 16 provided trauma care during a Global Health Engagement (GHE) at Hospital Nacional Mario Catarino Rivas.

During his 42 years at Cherry Point, Roy executed over $60 facility projects in two different buildings serving under 19 different commanding officers.

NMCCL officer selected as one of Navy Medicine’s financial management officers of the year

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina — United States Navy Lieutenant Commander Mashiana Sutton has been named Navy Medicine’s Senior Financial Management Officer of the Year for 2023. Sutton currently serves at the director for resource management at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.

Expeditionary Medical Unit’s Honduras mission leads to stronger medical partnerships and enhanced readiness

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — Expeditionary Medical Unit (EMU) 10 G-Rotation 16 strengthened health capability and expanded U.S. Navy readiness with Honduran medical professionals during a Global Health Engagement (GHE) in San Pedro Sula, Feb. 17 – March 2, 2024.

Hospital Corpsman Second Class Nancy Morales, center, received a Coin from Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, Commander of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, in recognition of her initiative and expertise on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Faced with low staffing over the 2023 holiday period, Morales, assigned to the clinic’s Readiness Department, developed a new system expediting service members’ Periodic Health Assessments, resulting in the rapid review of over 200 in a period of two weeks.

NMCCL graduates and commissions eight physician assistants

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Eight new physician assistants will soon arrive at their next duty station ready to provide care for Marines and Sailors. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune graduated its third class from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) on Mar. 1, 2024, during a commencement ceremony at Marston Pavilion on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
