The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. LRMC incorporates high cure rate procedure for cancer

LANDSTUHL, Germany – Over nearly two decades, Richard Reed has traveled from Germany to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center seven times. These weren’t holiday trips but rather medevacs for the treatment of his cancer. Reed’s treatments required a specialized dermatologist trained in Mohs surgery, which until now, wasn’t available in Germany for U.S. citizens living abroad. Recently, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center reintroduced the service for skin cancer patients, which had been missing for decades.

You can also choose to get your flu shot at a network pharmacy if it’s more convenient for you. Thursday, Dec 9 Lyster will offer the Moderna booster vaccination on a walk-in basis in V117 for Active Duty, DoD Civilians, and enrolled beneficiaries (ages 18 and over) who received their initial vaccinations at Lyster and are 6 months past their initial vaccination series.
