New electronic health record goes live at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune

The Military Health System’s new electronic health record for Department of Defense medical sites, MHS GENESIS, is officially live at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. At 7 a.m. on March 19, NMCCL staff began using the new system for patient care for active duty service members, retirees, and their families.

“The Time is Right for Social Work” is the theme of Social Work Awareness Month 2022. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics social work is the fastest growing profession in the country with more than 720,000 social workers in the United States. At the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk social workers can be found at the hospital, Army Community Service and supporting military children in the local schools.

Maroon Surge 22 tests LRMC, partners’ readiness

To build readiness and interoperability with strategic partners, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) conducted Maroon Surge 22, a pre-planned Mass Casualty (MASCAL) emergency response training exercise, on March 10. It was the first exercise of its kind at LRMC since 2019, due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Thirty military medical professionals from six NATO member countries attended the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine’s Medical Evaluation Course (MEDEVAL) at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Feb. 22-25. The course certifies medical professionals to evaluate exercises across NATO medical capacities.
