The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Savi’s Legacy: Inspiring Strength in All

July 19 marked the three-month anniversary of the loss of Savi Redman, diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 7. Her legacy endures through her positive impact on the pediatric oncology department at Walter Reed and all who had the privilege of meeting her. “She was the light of our lives, just a unicorn. Always positive, always energetic, and [she] found the joy in every single day,” said Shannon Feaster, Savi's mother.

US Army ROTC nursing cadets join CRDAMC’s team for the summer

Darnall Army Medical Center welcomed five U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps nursing cadets to its halls for a 28-day nursing program, and they got to sit down with the hospital commander, its senior staff members, and the U.S. Army Cadet Command chief nurse July 18.
