The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital/clinic remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. (Dr.) Shannon Ford as NICoE’s director during a farewell ceremony on July 30 at NICoE, located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).

Online Lab Scheduling Now Available

Irwin Army Community Hospital is pleased to announce the launch of its new online lab appointment scheduling system. As of Aug. 1, 2024, patients can conveniently book lab appointments through the Digital Appointment Portal. This pilot program aims to streamline the lab appointment process, reducing wait times for patients with scheduled appointments. While walk-in appointments will continue to be available, those with scheduled appointments will take priority.
