Have you set up payment for your new TRICARE Select 2021 enrollment fees yet? If not, time is running out. If you’re a TRICARE Select Group A: If you or your sponsor’s initial enlistment or appointment occurred before January 1, 2018, you are in Group A. retiree, you must set up your payment by Dec. 31 if you want to have TRICARE Select or TRICARE Overseas Program Select coverage on Jan. 1, 2021. You’ll be disenrolled from TRICARE if your TRICARE contractor doesn’t receive your payment.

Medical teams across Hawaii train jointly to promote mission readiness

Over the course of four days in early October, Tripler Army Medical Center’s Emergency Department hosted a Joint Operations Medical Provider Readiness Simulation, here. Collectively the Army, Air Force and Navy contributed 23 facilitators and 80 participants, making this a true joint force exercise. “I’ve been in the military for 17 years and this is my first joint service training,” said Lt. Col. NMCP’S NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM RECEIVES REACCREDITATION

In 2016, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) was the first DoD medical command to obtain accreditation with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) for its Nurse Residency Program. On Nov. 23, the program received reaccreditation with ANCC’s Practice Transition Accreditation Program.

NMCP’S HERT TEAM COMPLETES HAZMAT TRAINING

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) completed patient decontamination training, Nov. 19. The more than 40 team members demonstrated donning/doffing personal protective equipment, setting up the tent shower system, before performing a timed final evaluation which included triage and decontaminating simulated victims of a hazardous materials release.

NMCP DOCTOR RECEIVES NAVY JUNIOR PSYCHOLOGIST OF THE YEAR

Capt. Lisa Mulligan, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) commanding officer (right), presents a command coin with congratulations to Branch Health Clinic Norfolk’s Lt. Laura Corey for receiving the Navy’s Junior Psychologist of the Year award. “I want to thank you for what you’ve done, both in terms of the triage clinic and with training the BHT’s (behavioral health technicians and putting that program together,” said Mulligan. “The force development and generation piece of that is huge. NMCP’S RRRT ASSISTS TEXAS HOSPITAL IN COVID-19 RESPONSE

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Rapid Rural Response Team (RRRT) deployed to Starr County Memorial Hospital in Rio Grande, Texas, to help in the fight against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) from July 19 to Sept. 7.
