A blood sample may look like just a small tube, but to the laboratory team at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, it represents a real person waiting for answers. Behind the scenes, technicians carefully verify, test, and analyze every specimen, knowing that their work can help providers make important decisions about a patient’s care. That attention to detail was on full display during a recent 12-person College of American Pathologists inspection, where the laboratory had just five deficiencies across more than 3,000 standards and no major findings. For the team, the result is more than a number — it reflects the care, teamwork, and dedication they bring to every sample, every day.
