WACH Hosts Department of War Senior Military Health Leader for Strategic Visit Focused on Readiness and Innovation

FORT IRWIN, Calif. — Weed Army Community Hospital welcomed Keith Bass for a comprehensive visit highlighting the hospital’s mission, capabilities, and future direction in support of warfighter readiness and community health. Bass, who leads the Military Health System serving approximately 9.5 million beneficiaries worldwide, spent the day engaging with staff, leadership, and partners to better understand how WACH delivers care in one of the Army’s most unique operational environments.

Rader Health Clinic Nurse Receives Life-Saving Award

ARLINGTON, Va. — A Rader Health Clinic nurse was recognized for her extraordinary actions in 2025 that helped save the life of a teenager during an incident at the Pentagon City Mall.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Have you ever wondered how a service, drug, or treatment becomes a TRICARE benefit? As drugs and technology continue to develop, TRICARE coverage evolves along with them. It’s important to know that U.S. law governs TRICARE benefits. If the law allows TRICARE to cover a treatment or drug, the Defense Health Agency reviews the proposed benefit to make sure it’s proven, safe, and effective.

Winn leaders, ABA experts join forces to improve access to care for autistic military children

FORT STEWART, Ga. — Leaders from Winn Army Community Hospital, behavioral therapists and Humana TRICARE representatives joined forces March 31 to improve access to care for military families coping with autism. The 23 Applied Behavior Analysis professionals who attended were from network mental health care providers across coastal Georgia. Gathered with them in Winn’s Patriot Auditorium were the hospital’s primary care, pediatric, mental health and Exceptional Family Member Program leads.
