Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center earns Full Transparency Badge from The Leapfrog Group

By Kyle Lee Harvey

(July 24, 2026) – The Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC) has earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, recognizing the hospital's commitment to publicly reporting information about patient safety and quality through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

The Full Transparency Badge is awarded to hospitals that complete, affirm, and submit all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, one of the nation's leading voluntary reporting programs focused on patient safety, quality, and transparency.

"Earning the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge is a testament to the culture of safety, trust, and accountability we cultivate every day at ATAMMC,” said Lt. Col. Luane Covington, Chief of Clinical Quality Management. "This achievement belongs to our dedicated staff who relentlessly prioritize patient safety as a core mission requirement. True medical readiness is built on a foundation of absolute transparency. By voluntarily opening our doors to rigorous national benchmarks, we ensure our service members, veterans, and families receive the world-class, reliable care they deserve."

The Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge appears on Leapfrog's public ratings website and identifies hospitals that have committed to openly sharing information about their performance.

The Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center is a 120-bed, 1.3 million-square-foot joint military medical facility that serves a regional population of 250,000 personnel, with 90,000 enrollees receiving inpatient and specialty care services, supported by 55 specialty clinics, an Inpatient Addictions Program, the DiLorenzo Pentagon Health Clinic, and two satellite ambulatory care centers in Dumfries and Fairfax, Va.
