Landstuh, Germany — Landstuhl Regional Medical Center opened its annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Month observance Sept. 1, with a luncheon focused on connection, personal experience and the responsibility service members have to look out for one another. Held in LRMC’s Heaton Auditorium, the event brought together hospital leaders, behavioral health professionals, Soldiers and community partners under this this year’s theme, “Never Alone, Never Forgotten.”

Combined Pain Care Skills Training, SUD symposium puts focus on drug-free modalities

BETHESDA, Md. — Completing deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait more than six years ago, U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Michelle Nordstrom shared that she started performing battlefield acupuncture to help service members better manage their pain after injury. She received training to deliver the protocol from retired U.S. Air Force Col. (Dr.) Richard C. Niemtzow, known as “the father of battlefield acupuncture,” who passed away last year.

Irwin Army Community Hospital is pleased to announce the return of online lab appointment scheduling through a new, secure DoD-approved booking platform. Following a brief pause in online scheduling, patients can now book their laboratory visits directly using the new Microsoft 365 scheduling tool. This updated system streamlines the lab check-in process and reduces wait times. While walk-in services remain available, patients with scheduled appointments will continue to take priority.
