FORT RILEY, Kansas –
Irwin Army Community Hospital resumes online lab appointment scheduling through a new, secure DoD-approved booking platform. Following a brief pause in online scheduling, patients can now book their laboratory visits directly using the new Microsoft 365 scheduling tool. This updated system streamlines the lab check-in process and reduces wait times. While walk-in services remain available, patients with scheduled appointments will continue to take priority.
How to Schedule Your Lab Appointment
To schedule a lab appointment online:
- Access the Online Booking Portal to select an available date and time.
- Ensure Lab Orders are Active in MHS GENESIS: Verify that your healthcare provider has already submitted the necessary laboratory orders into your record.
- Review Special Considerations:
- HCG, STI, or MEDPROS Testing: No provider orders are required, but you must specify the test type in the designated note or Primary Care Manager line when booking.
- Off-Post Provider Scripts: Call the laboratory to verify your orders before booking online and note "outside provider orders" in the designated field.
- Glucose Tolerance Testing: These specific tests cannot be scheduled online. Please contact the laboratory directly to schedule these appointments.
Important Information for Your Appointment
- Scheduled Appointment Ticket: Upon arrival at the laboratory on the first floor, obtain a scheduled appointment ticket at the kiosk to confirm your check-in.
- Arrival Timing: Please avoid arriving more than 10 minutes early or late to maintain schedule flow and keep wait times minimal.
- Patient Name on Ticket: Ensure the check-in ticket reflects the name of the patient receiving care, which is especially important when bringing children for tests.
- Cancellations: If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please use the cancellation link provided in your email confirmation.
