Prescription Refills Now Available Through MHS GENESIS Patient Portal

Tricare beneficiaries can now request prescription refills online from military pharmacies by logging into their MHS Genesis Patient Portal. You can now easily refill your prescriptions by selecting the “Rx Refills” tab in the upper right panel on the portal’s homepage.

‘Footsteps to Freedom’ exhibit saluting troops, families opens at Walter Reed

They were worn in combat, in the deserts of Afghanistan and other far-away places. They were worn by troops injured in war and others who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. And now, they are on display as part of an honored art installation on Naval Support Activity Bethesda, home to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. “Footsteps to Freedom” (FTF) pays tribute to service members, many who served in the War in Afghanistan, and their families, with creatively revitalized combat boots. U.S. Navy Capt. (Dr.) Melissa Austin, Walter Reed director, joined other dignitaries, including veterans who served in Afghanistan, family members of service members who lost their lives in the war, and founders and sponsors of FTF, to cut the ribbon on the art installation April 1.

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center optometry experts urge Fort Cavazos beneficiaries to protect their eyes from injury during the upcoming Solar Eclipse. Safety for your eyes is the number one priority when viewing a total solar eclipse and most know not to view the eclipse without specialized glasses. However, some are unaware of some details when it comes to viewing eclipses, e.g., you should not use eclipse glasses or handheld viewers with cameras, binoculars, or telescopes. Those require different types of solar filters.

Walter Reed Salutes Compliance Officer for 47-Years of Public Service

When Eugene C. Monroe graduated from high school during the 1970s, he envisioned auditioning for military bands as a talented bassist, but a pervasive economic downturn prompted him to change course and join the U.S. Navy. The Warren County, Pennsylvania native headed to San Diego, California to begin a life of adventure and military service, following in the footsteps of two of his uncles who served during the Vietnam War.
