Breast Cancer Awareness Glow Run

By Jorge Gomez

Each year, thousands of people are affected by breast cancer, whether it touches your life directly or involves someone you hold dear.  Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide, with about 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with it in their lifetime.

The Staff Engagement Working Group and the Public Health team invite you to our Glow Run/Walk event on Oct. 4.  The Glow Run/Walk will take place at the outdoor track near the Whitside gym in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts are on sale for $20; please see the attached flyer for more details.  Everything in white on the back of the t-shirt will glow!  The front has a pink flag with stars on it with a ribbon wrapped around it.

The run/walk will kick off at 7 PM, if you can't take part in the run/walk, come out to enjoy the music, giveaways, and other activities.

This event is open to the public, so please share with your friends.  We look forward to seeing you there.  In case of inclement weather, the outside activities will be canceled, and an information booth will be located inside the hospital.
