NMCCL Transport Center receives kits to help patients with special needs

Camp Lejeune, NC — The Transport Center at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) now have five specially-designed kits to help in transporting patients with special needs. The “Carter Kits” are part of a grant from North Carolina’s Office of Emergency Medical Services and are used to offer comfort to patients with spectrum disorders.

TRICARE Dental Program Premiums Decrease Effective Nov. 1

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — If you’re enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program, your TDP monthly premiums will decrease for coverage effective Nov. 1. These new rates will remain in effect until Feb. 28, 2025.

NMCP HOSTS NURSE RESIDENCY TRAINING

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth — The Nurse Residency Training is designed to take place after new nurses complete their schooling, helping them transition from a controlled training environment to the real-world expectations of the field. During this training, new nurses are supervised by Corpsmen and Officers with relevant field experience. They can ask questions in a supportive environment, allowing subject matter experts to aid and clarify their understanding of the expectations. This training took place on Oct. 25 at the NSA Hampton Roads-Portsmouth Annex helo pad.

Same-Day Appointments Start Nov. 1

FORT RILEY, Kansas — Beginning November 1, Irwin Army Community Hospital will roll out a new program aimed at making it easier for patients to access same-day appointments in our Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH). Each morning at 7:30 a.m., IACH will post the number of same-day appointments available that day on the hospital’s Facebook page, giving patients an opportunity to secure last-minute openings for medical care without needing to go off-post.
