Martin Army Community Hospital Pharmacist Earns Top Honors

Fort Benning, Ga. — Dr. Tajaki Broussard, an outpatient pharmacist at Martin Army Community Hospital (MACH), recently achieved the prestigious title of Outpatient Pharmacist of the Year through the Defense Health Network (DHN) East. Her unique healthcare journey, which started early in life when she assisted her grandmother with medications, has not only shaped her six-year career as a pharmacist, but also serves as an inspiring example of dedication and passion in the healthcare field.

MACH Advances Virtual Care Amid Hurricane Helene

Fort Benning, Ga. — When Hurricane Helene threatened Columbus, Martin Army Community Hospital acted swiftly, ensuring that healthcare delivery continued uninterrupted. The Department of Primary Care managed appointments for over 600 patients in two days while staff worked from home. MACH kept operations running smoothly under challenging circumstances through virtual care options such as video appointments, telephonic consultations, provider-generated encounters, patient messages, and nursing triage.

Fort Benning, Ga. — The Leapfrog Group, an independent organization that focuses on healthcare quality, named Martin Army Community Hospital (MACH) one of only 15 military treatment facilities (MTF’s) to earn an "A" in its Fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade, placing MACH in the top 30% of all military and civilian hospitals graded. The recognition highlights the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to Soldiers, families, and retirees across the Fort Moore community.

05012025 — Martin Army Community Hospital (MACH) earned an “A” grade for hospital safety in the Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2025 report, recognizing its commitment to protecting patients from preventable harm and medical errors. The Leapfrog Group is a national, independent organization focused on health care quality. Its grading system uses up to 22 evidence-based patient safety measures to evaluate hospitals on how well they prevent errors, injuries, and infections.

Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to Hospital Corpsman Second Class Salma Moore on Monday, June 30, 2025. From July 2022 to July 2025, Moore served as the Leading Petty Officer for the Patient Administration Department. During her time here, she led 21 personnel in the processing of over 2,000 electronic health record uploads and the maintenance and security of over 6,000 patient records. Moore received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in recognition of her service to the MCAS Cherry Point community.

Tripler Army Medical Center — Tripler Army Medical Center welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony here, June 30. During the ceremony Col. Michael D. Ronn relinquished command to Col. William F. Bimson. The presiding official of the ceremony was Brig. Gen. Deydre Teyhen, commanding general, Medical Readiness Command, Pacific, and director, Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific.
