Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo Sailors hone skills at Global Medic 24

FORT MCCOY, WISCONSIN — U.S. Sailors from Expeditionary Medical Facility Kilo integrated with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve 4th Medical Battalion to participate in Exercise Global Medic 2024, an annual multinational, multicomponent collective training exercise that ran from Aug. 3-16 in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center recently received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, indicative of its commitment to providing the highest level of safety and care to its beneficiaries.

Walter Reed receives "A" Grade for Patient Safety from Leapfrog Group

WRNMMC, Bethesda, Md. — Walter Reed National Military Medical Center recently received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. This “A” grade highlights Walter Reed's commitment to providing the highest levels of safety and care to our nation's service members, their families, and beneficiaries.

The Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) Director at Walter Reed, U.S. Navy Cmdr. (Dr.) Gregory Chesnut, stresses the importance of early screening in fighting and treating prostate cancer, the most common cancer diagnosed among men in the U.S.

Prostate Center at Walter Reed leads DOD’s effort in prostate cancer care

WRNMMC, Bethesda, Md. — Fred Cohrs is a prostate cancer good news success story. He was a high-risk patient, diagnosed by a biopsy performed at the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, then referred to the Center for Prostate Disease Research (CDPR) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) for minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery.

U.S. Air Force activates the 316th Inpatient Squadron at Walter Reed

WRNMMC, Bethesda, Md. — The U.S. Air Force activated the 316th Inpatient Squadron at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) on Aug. 23, 2024, the first Air Force squadron to exist entirely within Walter Reed.

CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina —  Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune staff members were recognized by HonorBridge, the largest organ procurement organization in the states of North Carolina and Virginia, for their compassionate care of an organ donor.

CRDAMC holds transfer of authority ceremony for its Medical Support Unit

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The 7222nd Medical Support Unit assumed the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Centers medical support mission, augmenting medical services to the Fort Cavazos Deployment Readiness Center, as Lt. Col. James Robinson, commander, 7222nd MSU and 1st. Sgt. Pedro Lopezcolon, senior enlisted advisor, uncased the unit’s colors in a transfer of authority ceremony at the hospital 28 Aug.

Know How TRICARE Regions Are Changing in 2025

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — On Jan. 1, 2025, there will be changes to the TRICARE regions in the United States as part of TRICARE's new regional contracts. While there will still be two TRICARE regions, six states currently in the East Region (Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin) will move to the West Region.
