Coronavirus: What You Need to Know

By Mr. Christopher Larsen (Regional Health Command Pacific) March 5, 2020 Novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, continues to spread worldwide. As COVID-19 spreads, so does information about the disease. If one surfs the Internet, everything from scientifically-proven medical information about the virus to debunked conspiracy theories can be found. More than 95,000 cases have been reported worldwide, and COVID-19 has killed more than 3,300 people, mostly in mainland China. The disease has spread wider in Washington state, where ten people have died. A 71-year-old-man in California with underlying health conditions passed away from the disease this week, bringing the nationwide death toll to 11.

A change of address may mean new TRICARE health options

Are you and your family moving? Moving doesn’t change your TRICARE eligibility. But it may change the TRICARE health care options available to you and your family. A change of address, such as moving to a new country, city, region, or ZIP+4 code is a TRICARE Qualifying Life Event (QLE). This QLE means you have 90 days from the date of your address change to enroll in or change your TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select health plan based on your eligibility or plan availability in the new location.

Ireland Army Health Clinic holds Community Town Hall, discusses Retiree Transition

Fort Knox, Ky. – Ireland Army Health Clinic officials will host a town hall Sept. 18, from 5-7 p.m., at the American Legion in Elizabethtown, Ky., to discuss transitioning retirees’ primary care to the civilian healthcare network. FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) today announced the launch of a new mobile application for patients simply called the Belvoir Hospital app. Developed in coordination with the Defense Health Agency and FBCH Marketing, Belvoir Hospital app will serve as a one-touch patient experience, featuring centralized information and services that provide greater access to and utilization of health services offered in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
