The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Lyster Army Health Clinic welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Garrett Holt assumed command of the Lyster Army Health Clinic from Lt. Col. Danielle Rodondi during a change of command ceremony at the Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker on June 7. The audience was much different from when Lt. Col. Rodondi first accepted command in June 2020 in a virtual ceremony during the height of the COVID pandemic with just ten persons in attendance at the museum. During Tuesday’s event, community leaders, colleagues, family, and friends gathered to watch the time honored tradition, the Change of Command Ceremony.

New clinics bringing health care closer to Marines, Sailors

Active duty service members aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune will soon have closer options for their health care needs. Since 2013, the Defense Health Agency has worked closely with Navy and Marine Corps counterparts to visualize and build Marine Centered Medical Homes (MCMH). These state-of-the-art clinics are scheduled to open throughout the next few years.

Continuous Glucose Monitors Now Available as a TRICARE Pharmacy Benefit

If you use a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), you’re in luck. TRICARE Pharmacy Program now covers two brands of CGMs. These are the Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 and the Dexcom G6. Previously, CGMs were only available as durable medical equipment (DME) under the TRICARE medical benefit. CGMs continue to be covered as a DME medical benefit, but they’re also now available as part of your pharmacy benefit.
