The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Pharmacy Park & Pick Up Kiosk Hours Adjusted

Due to the MHS GENESIS transition, pharmacy wait times have increased. The Pharmacy Park & Pick Up ticket kiosk will now close at 3 p.m. daily to ensure the team can maintain safety and quality control. This will provide time to complete the tickets of those already in the clinic. Current wait times have exceeded two hours. We will post an update when we return to normal operating hours. Naval Medical Portsmouth's New Baby Clinic Gets Market Assistance

Senior Airman Anika Davis-Olson, assigned to Internal Medicine at Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) 633 Medical Group (MDG) in Langley, Va., gets vitals from newborn Esiais Leio Almaraz during a 48 hour well baby check at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth's (NMCP) new baby clinic. Davis-Olson was at NMCP as part of support from the McDonald Army Health Center at Fort Eustis Va. and AFMS Langley 633 MDG at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Hampton, Va. -- both Defense Health Agency (DHA) Market Partners in the Tidewater area. Their support enables Portsmouth's New Baby Clinic to remain open on Saturdays during the deployment of the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20). Fort Hood Soldiers Monitor Mosquito Population

Mosquitoes thrive best when it is consistently above 70 degrees. Because of this, Texas has one of the longest mosquito seasons in the country. First Lieutenant John Hackler and Pfc. Jamie Evans, both assigned to Alpha Company, Troop Battalion, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, catch mosquitoes, ticks, bed bugs, roaches, along with other flying insects and creepy crawlers. Hackler is the medical entomology program manager and Evans is a preventative medicine specialist at CRDAMC.
