The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. ‘Train as you fight’- Surgical suit brings realistic training to military operations

With readiness of the medical force a top-priority, Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune often collaborates with entities across Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to train for real-life medical emergencies. In October, 2nd Medical Battalion tapped NMCCL’s Staff Education and Training Team for use of the medical center’s Human Worn Partial Task Surgical Simulator, or “cut suit”.

Lyster offers Diabetes Education and Prevention Classes

November is National Diabetes Month. Ms. Theresa Osteen, Registered Dietitian at Lyster Army Health Clinic took the opportunity this month to highlight programs and services available to help people with diabetes self-manage their condition. Donor Breast Milk Program launches at Naval Hospital Jacksonville

A Breast Milk donation program is at full, operational capacity at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, according to Capt. Carl Goforth, chief nursing officer. The Mother Infant Unit is purchasing from Mothers Milk Bank of Colorado and has been provided for at least three local infants.
