The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. WRNMMC, Bethesda, Md. — Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) hosted a Dance Movement Therapy class Friday, May 26. The class, a pioneering blend of rehabilitative treatment and Pacific Island dances provides a unique therapeutic approach to addressing service members' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs.

WRNMMC, Bethesda, Md. — Research is a foundation of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and essential to that research are human subjects. They help answer questions about biomedical or behavioral interventions, including new treatments, such as novel vaccines, drugs, dietary choices, dietary supplements, and medical devices, and known interventions that warrant further study and comparison.

TRICARE covers all clinical preventive services with no out-of-pocket costs to you if you use a TRICARE network provider.
