Temple High School Students Tour CRDAMC, Explore Healthcare Careers

Temple High School medical students visited Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center for a guided tour of key hospital departments, gaining firsthand insight into health care careers and creating an interest in what military medicine can offer them. The visit exposed students to real-world medical environments and highlighted a range of career paths within the health care field. Hospital leadership welcomed the group and spoke about the organization’s role in supporting the community.

SPRINT Team Mobilized to Support ODU ROTC Cadets Following Tragic Loss

A Special Psychiatric Rapid Intervention Team (SPRINT) from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) was deployed to Old Dominion University (ODU) from March 23 to 25, to provide critical psychological support to the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadet population. The intervention followed the tragic shooting of an ROTC instructor, and a group of cadets subsequently killing the suspect, which deeply impacted the cadet community.

Walter Reed receives Lymphatic Disease Surgery Center of Excellence designation for groundbreaking lymphedema treatments

Walter Reed was designated a Lymphatic Disease Surgery Center of Excellence by the Lymphatic Education and Research Network, becoming the first center in the Department of War to receive this distinction. Of 44 centers nationwide, only 14 hold this specialized surgical designation.

With Tripler Physical Therapy team, a student athlete turns injury into Hawaii cross-country glory

Sadie Kreuger, a sophomore and student athlete at Moanalua High School, recovered from an Iliotibial (IT) band injury in August 2025. With the exceptional patient care of Tripler Army Medical Center’s physical therapy team, Kreuger went on to win the Hawaii State Cross-Country title, was named Hawaii Gatorade Player of the Year, and qualified to participate in the Brooks Nationals, representing Team West in December 2025.
