The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. New Virtual Option for Urgent Care

A new virtual clinic for urgent care is now available for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries age 12 and older. VIPRR connects patients to credentialed military health providers through the MHS Nurse Advice Line. It’s designed to help patients in communities like Fort Riley where access to in-person appointments may be limited.

🚧 Gate Closure Alert -UPDATED CLOSURE DATE OF OCT 28, 2025 🚧 Madigan Gate (I-5 exit 122A) will be CLOSED starting October 28, 2025, and is not scheduled to reopen till January 28, 2026. The Logistics Gate (I-5 exit 122B) will transition to 24-hour operations during this period. The Madigan gate is being closed for construction and to make improvements to the access control point. We encourage our valued patients to please plan their commutes accordingly during the gate closure and anticipate the potential for increased traffic at other gates.
