The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Effective Monday, July 6th, Womack Army Medical Center primary care clinics and staff will return to full operations. In line with Governor Roy Cooper’s implementation of phase 1 and 2 plans, and after discussion with the Womack Army Medical Center COVID-19 task force, we have determined that Womack can safely return all primary care clinics to both in-person and virtual health appointments.

The urgent care clinic at Womack Army Medical Center is now open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for testing and treating patients that have symptoms of COVID-19. The WAMC Urgent Care Clinic is a walk-in clinic only. Patients that walk in will receive a mask and undergo COVID-19 medical treatment. On weekends, patients with COVID-19 symptoms should go to the emergency roomThe hospital department that provides emergency services to patients who need immediate medical attention..
