The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center’s Army Public Health Nursing team will host a flu and COVID-19 vaccination event for all TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries at the Fort Hood Main Exchange from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Flu vaccines will be available for beneficiaries 3 years and older, and COVID-19 vaccines will be offered for those 12 years and older.
The Fort Hood Main Exchange, also known as the Clear Creek Exchange, is located at 1048 Clear Creek Road, Fort Hood, Texas 76544.
Beneficiaries should bring a valid Department of Defense ID card.
The seasonal influenza vaccine is recommended every year for everyone 6 months of age and older, with rare exceptions. Individuals at higher risk for flu complications include infants, young children, pregnant women, adults 65 and older, residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities, and people with underlying health conditions.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend the updated 2024–2025 COVID-19 and 2024–2025 flu vaccines to help protect against severe illness this fall and winter.
According to the CDC, it is safe to receive both vaccines during the same visit. Vaccination continues to reduce the risk of severe outcomes from both COVID-19 and influenza, including hospitalization and death.
Eligible TRICARE beneficiaries may also receive a flu or COVID-19 vaccine at any TRICARE-authorized pharmacy or network urgent care clinic.
