Kenner Army Health Clinic Pharmacy ScriptCenter

By Shanita Dorsey

In February, Kenner Army Health Clinic (KAHC) unveiled its newest addition to the Pharmacy. Known as the ScriptCenter, the revolutionary locker system provides patients with a convenient way to pick up their prescriptions, enhancing patient experience and streamlining health care services.

The ScriptCenter provides solutions to common challenges patients often previously faced within the KAHC pharmacy, including long wait times, scheduling conflicts with pharmacy hours of operation, and prescription availability. The SciptCenter also now offers patients a different location to pick up their refill medication(s).

The ScriptCenter is located inside the Fort Gregg Adams Main Exchange, allowing patients a chance to pick up their medication outside of KAHC operating hours -- based on the patient’s own schedule.

“The ScriptCenter has extended available hours for picking up medications," said Deputy Chief of Pharmacy, Ms. Linda Hamilton. "The PX is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This allows patients more time to pick up their medications after work or on the weekends.”

Hamilton says prescriptions still must be picked up within ten days, and the ScriptCenter does not include refrigerated prescriptions, which must be picked up from the pharmacy counter.

Utilizing the ScriptCenter is an easy process.
  1. First-time enrollment: Order prescriptions through AudioCare as usual and select “ScriptCenter Kiosk” as your pickup location.
  2. Once at ScriptCenter, Select “Pickup,” scan military ID, and enter pin. (Note: If the barcode on your military ID does not contain your DOD ID, you will need to provide a prescription number to validate your identity during your first pick up from ScriptCenter.)
  3. Review your prescriptions to pick up, sign, and complete your transaction.
The pharmacy staff monitor the usage of the ScriptCenter daily, delivering medications, and removing any medications that have not been picked up within ten days.

“Our pharmacy works hard to ensure that we meet requirements and have prescriptions ready for pick up by 2:00 p.m. the day following each order,” said Dr. Christine Wetherbee, a KAHC pharmacist. "We have over 500 prescriptions each month and every month it goes up.”

“I love it!” said Specialist Jessica Likens. “It’s quick, easy, I can go on my own time, and I don’t have to wait in the pharmacy lobby.”

For more information about the ScriptCenter, you can speak with a KAHC pharmacist to see if this is an option you would like to use to pick up your refills.
