The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Dietitians available to assist with diets for those with prediabetes, diabetes

Individuals diagnosed with diabetes are at greater risk for heart disease, stroke, neuropathy, kidney disease, eye disease, foot problems, gum and dental problems and sexual and bladder issues. There are three laboratory tests used to determine if an individual has prediabetes and four tests used for diabetes: Hemoglobin A1C (percent); Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG); Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT); and Random Plasma Glucose Test. Hemoglobin A1C is a test that determines an individual’s weighted three month blood sugar average (does not need to be a fasting test).

The Low FODMAP Diet…What Is It?

FODMAP is an acronym that stands for “Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols.” When consumed in excessive amounts (and sometimes, even in small or moderate amounts), these nutrients have a tendency to cause and/or aggravate gastrointestinal symptoms because they are easily fermented in the gut and also draw more fluid into the intestine.
