A medical team from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Walter Reed) and the National Capital Region (NCR) recently returned to the medical center after providing head and neck surgical oncology and advanced airway care and surgeries to patients during a two-week humanitarian and readiness mission in Honduras.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) active duty and civilian staff members, led by Capt. Brian Feldman, NMCP director/Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Portsmouth commander, gathered at Morning Colors to honor the lives lost due to the attacks on the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon, and the crash of Flight 93 in a Pennsylvania field, 23 years ago, Sept. 11.

NMCP HOSTS COMMAND CAREER NEC FAIR

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) staff hosted a fair highlighting the various Navy Enlisted Classifications (NECs), or jobs, available within Navy Medicine, Sept. 3. Numerous tables lined the main hall of Building 2 that provided information via decorative displays, and staff from each specialty, from lab work to pharmacy to mental health, were able to speak to attendees and answer questions.

Through a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process that spanned 14 months, the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma recently reverified Landstuhl Regional Medical Center as the only U.S. Level II Trauma Center, military or civilian, overseas.
