SFC Swartz Leads by Example, Wins 2025 Fit for Duty Challenge

Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Swartz was named the winner of the 2025 Fit for Duty Challenge after making significant lifestyle changes to improve his health and appearance. Despite the demanding schedule of his role as a drill sergeant, he used the program’s tools—especially a daily checklist—to stay on track. Swartz lost 8.3% body fat, 19.3 pounds of fat mass, and gained 1.6 pounds of fat-free mass. He credits the Armed Forces Wellness Center for providing valuable support and resources throughout his transformation.
