59th Medical Wing Begins New Chapter Under Col. Tracy K. Bozung

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-Texas — U.S. Air Force Col. (Dr.) Tracy K. Bozung assumed command of the 59th Medical Wing during a change of command ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, July 9, 2026. Presided over by Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Robert K. Bogart, Director of Defense Health Network Central and Commander, Medical Readiness Command Alpha, the ceremony marked the formal transfer of leadership from Brig. Gen. Gwendolyn A. Foster to Bozung. Previously serving as the wing's deputy commander, Bozung now leads the Air Force Medical Service's largest healthcare, medical education and readiness platform, continuing the wing's mission of delivering trusted care, developing ready medics and supporting global operations.

Dunn Dental Clinic Reaches Construction Milestone With Topping Out Ceremony

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND,Texas — The 59th Medical Wing celebrated a major milestone in the construction of the new Dunn Dental Clinic with a topping-out ceremony July 16 at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The $88 million facility will enhance dental care and training for Airmen, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, expanded capacity, and improved patient flow.

Medical Readiness in Action: TCCC Skills Day

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas — Airmen from the 59th Medical Wing and partner units participated in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Skills Day on May 9, 2025, at JBSA-Lackland, where they engaged in realistic, hands-on trauma training designed to enhance deployment readiness. The joint event featured simulated battlefield conditions and collaboration with sister services, pushing participants beyond clinical settings to strengthen life-saving skills under pressure.
