Aquilla Highsmith-Tyler stands at the forefront of the 59th Medical Wing’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee. With unwavering dedication, she leads a charge to transform the military landscape into one that values every individual's unique identity and experiences. Inspired by President Joe Biden's Executive Order 14035, Highsmith-Tyler and her team aim to cultivate a workplace where mutual respect and understanding reign supreme. Through education and awareness initiatives, they seek to dismantle barriers that hinder inclusivity and diversity within the organization, believing that embracing differences will only strengthen their mission capabilities and elevate patient care standards.

Womack Clinical Psychology Intern and Clinical Psychology Residency — Both the Womack Clinical Psychology Internship Program (CPIP) and Clinical Psychology Residency Program (CPRP) emphasize diversity by fostering an atmosphere and environment that respects, supports, and values multiple perspectives. We recognize the importance of training Interns and Residents to become culturally competent psychologists, as this is critical in reducing health-care disparities and providing quality care to service members and their Families with diverse values, beliefs, and practices.

Col. Abraham Suhr, an ophthalmologist and Deputy Commander for Surgical Services at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, is a second generation Korean American. May is recognized as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month stands as a reminder of the strength the Army has gained and will gain, through a high-quality diverse all-volunteer force.
