Post leaders, medical professionals emphasize Moderna vaccine is safe

FORT LEE, Va — The COVID-19 vaccine being administered to service members and civilians here is safe and has gone through the same clinical trials as any other medication or medical device achieving approval through the Food and Drug Administration.

Staff Sgt. Brenda Collins, medical specialist, from Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center administers the COVID-19 vaccination to a patient during the phase one process Dec.15, 2020 at on Fort Hood, Texas. Distribution of the vaccine will be conducted in phases based on CDC guidance. The vaccine is stored and distributed under various controls to ensure the safety of the recipient.

Army medical treatment facilities to receive initial distribution of COVID vaccine

SEMBACH, Germany — Army medical treatment facilities in Europe will soon receive an initial allocation of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval under an Emergency Use Authorization.
