The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

MACH Soldiers Win Best Medic Title for MRC-East at Fort Campbell

September 29, 2025 — Staff Sgt. Alvarez and Spc. Frederick from Martin Army Community Hospital won the Medical Readiness Command-East Best Medic Competition, claiming the title during the multi-day event held at Fort Campbell, Ky.

Spc. Walter Galdamez, assigned to U.S. Army Medical Department Activity-Bavaria, pulls a simulated injured Soldier on a SKEDCO during the Regional Health Command Europe Best Medic competition. Galdamez was one half of the team that earned the Best Medic title.

Regional Health Command Europe Soldiers compete for Best Medic, Best Warrior title

BAUMHOLDER, Germany — With extra safety precautions due to COVID-19, Soldiers from Regional Health Command Europe, alongside Soldiers from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, simultaneously competed in a Best Medic and Best Warrior competition Nov. 3 and 4 in Baumholder.
