Cherry Point Nurses Fortify Spiritual Resolve with Blessing of the Hands

MCAS Cherry Point — Nurses of Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point whose dedication to help others matches the skills of their healing hands celebrated National Nurses Week with a Blessing of the Hands Ceremony on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Hospitalman Gabriella Tellez serves in the Radiology department at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point with aspirations to commission and serve as an officer. The Azusa, California native specifically requested assignment to the department to gain hands-on experience working alongside the facility’s Radiological Technologists. Tellez is scheduled to attend specialized medical training, known as “C-School” in spring of 2026. This training will allow her to further her service in the Navy and progress towards her career goal.

First Baby Born at the New Roosevelt Pavilion

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, BETHESDA, MD — Bells rang in Walter Reed National Military Medical Center’s newly opened Roosevelt Pavilion a little after 6 p.m. on May 3. This Navy tradition signaled the birth of Reign, a baby boy who weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, to Chanelle and Cryptologic Technician 1st Class Dakota Lane Wisinger.
