Airmen of the 316th Inpatient Operations Squadron (IPTS), the U.S. Air Force’s first squadron stood up at Walter Reed on Aug. 23, 2024, joined other team members at the medical center to celebrate the branch’s 77th birthday with a cake-cutting ceremony following morning colors on Sept. 19, 2024.

Empowering New Parents: Womack Army Medical Center's Maternity Fair

Womack Army Medical Center's recent Maternity Fair brought together experts and resources to support military families and new parents. This event highlighted the comprehensive services available to ensure a healthy and happy journey for parents and babies. More than 480 families attended the event that is held twice per year. This year the event held on Saturday, September 21st, was extended to 3 p.m. from the normal 10 to 2 p.m. Providing attendees with enough time to attend all the classes offered by the Fort Liberty Army Community Services and still have enough time to visit all the booths facilitated by Womack staff, Fort Liberty, and other local community services.

Womack Forensic Team is Breaking the Silence and Building Resilience

As a registered nurse and Forensic Healthcare Program Manager for Womack Army Medical Center, Kelly Taylor and her team provides compassionate care and support to survivors of sexual assault. With a passion for forensics and a drive to make a difference, Taylor shares her journey and insights on the importance of consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships. Taylor’s path to becoming a sexual assault nurse examiner began while working in emergency medicine where she encountered patients that experienced trauma, physical and sexual abuse. “My passion was caring for patients that come in the most vulnerable moments of their lives and so I wanted to channel that passion into something meaningful,” said Taylor.

An orientation tour and briefs at various locations in the medical center were given to the Japanese medical sailors and officers from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) JS Kashima and JS Shimakaze.
