Flu Vaccines Have Arrived at Fort Riley

Flu season is here, and Irwin Army Community Hospital has received its first shipment of flu vaccine. The Public Health team is finalizing logistics to vaccinate employees who are required to receive the flu shot as a condition of employment, as well as to support Retiree Appreciation Day with high-dose flu vaccines.
 
“Our priority is to protect the health of Soldiers, families, retirees, and our own staff,” said 1LT Natalia Sotomayor-Oyola, Fort Riley Public Health Nurse. “With vaccine now on hand, our team is ready to move quickly so that everyone can be vaccinated safely and efficiently.”
 
What Employees Need to Know
  • Bring your CAC card to all IACH flu rodeos.
  • Employees who receive their flu shot off-post must email proof of vaccination to Occupational Health at usarmy.riley.medcom-iach.mbx.occ-health@health.mil.
  • Active Duty Soldiers who choose to receive their flu shot at a community or employee event must also bring their CAC card for proper documentation. 
Employee Flu Rodeos (IACH Staff)
  • Oct. 8, 9, 21 & 22 – EPD Bay (0630–1430)
  • Oct. 10 – CYS Employees (time and location pending)
  • Oct. 29 – SRU Clamshell (0800–1200)
  • Oct. 30 – Garrison (0800–1000)
For All Fort Riley Beneficiaries
 
November
  • Nov. 5 – Custer Hill Youth Center (1500–1900)
  • Nov. 12 – Colyer Forsyth Center (1500–1900)
  • Nov. 19 – Forsyth School Age Center (1500–1900)
December
  • Caldwell Clinic (0800–1400): Dec. 2, 4, 9, 11, 16 & 18
  • Appointments will be required.
Retiree Appreciation Day
  • High-dose flu vaccines will be offered on Oct. 4 during Retiree Appreciation Day.
Soldiers
  • IACH Active Duty Soldiers: Will receive flu vaccines at designated IACH flu rodeos in October.
  • 1st Infantry Division Soldiers: Will continue to be vaccinated through unit-led flu rodeos coordinated separately.
