Eglin hospital earns five-star rating

By Kevin Gaddle

The hospital team received Becker’s Healthcare Five-Star Gold Standard Hospital of the Year last month. Eglin was one of only two Florida hospitals with the five-star patient experience.  Approximately 13 Defense Department facilities made the list.

According to the publication, the star ratings make it easier for consumers to use the information to spotlight excellence in healthcare quality.  Inputs that led to the rating came from surveys administered to a random sample of adult hospital patients between two and 42 days after discharge.

“The 96th MDG strives to create an environment where patients feel they will receive great care," said Col. Michael Brough, 96th MDG commander. "No one ever wants to be admitted to a hospital, but this rating is a testament to our desire and culture we have built in providing the best care for our patients to help them get better and return home as quick and as safely as possible.”
