The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

6 MDG Delivers Mandatory Vaccines

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Airmen from the 6th Medical Group began redistributing doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, on Sept. 9, 2021. This comes after the Secretary of Defense issued a memorandum on Aug. 23, 2021, mandating all active duty personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The military community offers a variety of resources to help individuals. Supervisors, first sergeants, commanders, Airman and Family Readiness Centers, Chaplains and Mental Health professionals are available and equipped to assist individuals in need. All mental health programs are geared toward suicide prevention and increasing resiliency. Unit-based resiliency training, stress and anger-management training, outpatient-counseling services, family advocacy and alcohol and drug abuse counseling are also offered. MacDill Promotes Suicide Prevention Awareness

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- September is national suicide prevention awareness month.

The app, called Kinderspot, earned first place at the 2020 AFIMSC Innovation Rodeo. To design a tool that would benefit military families, AFIMSC partnered with Oddball and worked closely with the Air Force Services Center to shape the app and processes to align with other child and youth program priorities and efforts. In an effort to aid military service members in finding available childcare or day care service at MacDill’s Child Development Center, a mobile app called Kinderspot, developed by Oddball, will be available to families of Team MacDill beginning July 12, 2021.
