Tripler Army Medical Center  –   U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Renee M. Butler assumed her role as the new command sergeant major of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) during a change of responsibility ceremony at Constitution Park on July 29, taking the reins from Command Sgt. Maj. Omar J. Bond.

Bond delivered his farewell remarks, thanking dignitaries, command teams, families, and special guests for their contributions and attendance despite the heat. He also humorously apologized for his dancing skills.

Col. William F. Bimson, TAMC director, then presented the unit colors to Butler, symbolizing the transfer of leadership.

During her ceremonial speech, Butler acknowledged TAMC's rich history, honored its people and set a vision for continued excellence and adaptability in Army medicine.

Butler previously served as the senior enlisted advisor of the Medical Readiness Battalion, Hawaii, relinquishing responsibility of that role during a ceremony at Tripler Army Medical Center on July 28.
