Download an application packet for the 2026-2027 Dental Assistant Training Program.
Running from September 2026 through April 2027, this competitive program provides 800 hours of structured classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience inside Fort Riley dental clinics. While the program prepares participants with the education and practical skills needed to serve as a dental assistant within a military treatment facility, it comes at no tuition cost to those selected.
Participants will complete formal instruction, clinic rotations, required orientations, and community volunteer hours. Upon successful completion, students graduate with foundational dental assistant training and documented volunteer experience. While national certification is not included in the program, graduates may independently pursue certification through the Dental Assisting National Board if desired.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid military ID for on-post access, be a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Applications are now being accepted through May 2026, and training spaces are limited. A selection panel will review completed applications, followed by interviews in early June 2026.
Those selected will begin required orientations and in-processing activities during the summer, with clinical instruction starting September 2026.
