FORT RILEY, Kansas –
Irwin Army Community Hospital is notifying patients of several upcoming adjustments to pharmacy and laboratory services in December and early January. These temporary changes are necessary to support training, facility upgrades, and safe operations. Patients are encouraged to plan ahead to prevent delays.
On Friday, Dec. 19, the IACH and Farrelly Health Clinic pharmacies, along with the IACH Laboratory, will operate on reduced hours due to staff development training.
- IACH & Farrelly Pharmacies: 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- Laboratory: 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Pharmacy Construction and Temporary Service Area
Beginning Jan. 12, 2026, the IACH Pharmacy will begin a fire-shutter replacement project. The standard customer-service windows will be closed during this work. Pharmacy operations will continue internally, but all patient interaction and prescription pickup will move to a temporary service area directly in front of the pharmacy. Patients should expect longer processing times throughout the construction period. The construction is expected to last up to four weeks, assuming no complications.
To reduce wait times and prevent congestion:
- Refill medications the week of Jan. 5–11.
- The IACH Pharmacy will open for additional hours on:
Saturday, Jan. 10: 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 11: 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
- Active-Duty Soldiers must use the Farrelly Health Clinic Pharmacy during the construction period.
- Refills must be activated using the AudioCare line at (785) 453-6572 or MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. During this time refills will not be processed for same day fills.
- Highly encourage use of Q-Anywhere to activate new prescriptions and renewals, allowing patients to start processing their prescriptions immediately after their medical appointment.
Laboratory Service Adjustments
To maintain safe and efficient operations while the pharmacy area undergoes construction, laboratory services will also follow temporary modifications.
- The main outpatient phlebotomy area at IACH will shift to appointments only to decrease congestion in the shared phlebotomy–pharmacy lobby.
- The Farrelly Health Clinic phlebotomy section will open for walk-in blood draws for Active-Duty Soldiers and all eligible beneficiaries from 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
