Tripler Army Medical Center Daisy Award

Congratulations to 1st Lt. Nicholas Ketner, a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit and our newest DAISY Award Winner!

We want to recognize Ketner for his exceptional advocacy and dedication to patient comfort. A recent patient shared a powerful story about how Ketner went above and beyond to ensure their management needs were met, even navigating a challenging allergy situation with incredible diligence and a patient-first attitude.

This patient recounted how Ketner addressed a discrepancy regarding a medication allergy, understanding the importance of accurate information for effective pain relief. Ketner didn't just acknowledge the issue, he took ownership, and patiently gathering necessary information despite the patient’s discomfort. His commitment to easing their suffering was truly remarkable.

Ketner’s kindness extended beyond medication management, offering thoughtful comfort measures like hot packs and aromatherapy. He exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award, demonstrating compassion, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of his patients.
