FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Capt. Doran Lindsey assumed command of Company A, Medical Readiness Battalion, during a change of command ceremony at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center atrium April 4.
Lt. Col. Jamie Culbreath, commander of the CRDAMC Medical Readiness Battalion hosted the ceremony that also bid farewell to the outgoing commander, Capt. Courtney Moore.
No stranger to CRDAMC, Lindsey served as its Bennett Health Clinic physical therapy officer in charge, and Moore will move on to join the Army-Baylor University Graduate Program in Health Administration located at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Culbreath thanked Moore for her efforts while in command and recognized she will continue to do so much more for the Army as she continues her career. He also acknowledged the importance of her family’s support because it is what gets them through challenges of being a commander.
“I’m reminded of the importance of our families and how they push us to be the best at all that we do each and every day,” said Culbreath.
Moore reflected on her time with the organization during her comments, highlighting the Soldiers and staff’s accomplishments, the members that helped mold her into the leader she has become, and how together they excelled in making the organization better.
“I want to leave you with three simple quotes that have guided me throughout my time here: Supporting another’s success won’t ever dampen yours. Leave people and organizations better than you found them. Be the leader you would follow,” said Moore. “Leadership is not about standing in the spotlight, it’s about lifting others up, helping them succeed, and making sure they have what they need to thrive.”
Culbreath urged Lindsey to strive each day to be better than the day before and prioritize the welfare of her Soldiers.
“We have no greater responsibility than to ensure our Soldiers are cared for, trained and ready for the next war,” said Culbreath.
Lindsey expressed her gratitude to the CRDAMC leadership for the opportunity to lead the unit. She also thanked those that mentored her along her journey to command. She is looking forward to the upcoming journey to work alongside the team.
“Alpha company the work you do here truly makes a difference,” said Lindsey “I’m proud to have served here as a provider and I’m humbled to have the privilege to be your commander.”
“Thank you for your dedication and hard work, lets keep our ducks in a row and continue to provide exceptional patient service, every single time,” said Lindsey.
