The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Madigan Soldiers honored and recognized for exemplary service

Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.  –   On 5 July Col. Hope M. Williamson-Younce honored and recognized 3 Soldiers in Madigan Army Medical Center Soldier Recovery Unit. SGT Christian Blackburn, SGT Hwan Lee and SPC Iris Chavez received the Army Achievement Medal for exemplary service. SGT Bianca Hayden competed in the 2024 Department of Defense Warrior Games against more than 200 athletes and earned an astounding 7 medals: five medals in swimming (3 x gold, 1 x silver, and 1 x bronze), one silver medal in discus, and one silver medal in shot put. Join us in congratulating these Soldiers for their great achievements!
