NHC Pax River to host flu shot clinic for active duty, beneficiaries

By Public Affairs Officer Kathy Hieatt

Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River will be hosting a Flu SHOTX at the Drill Hall on Friday, Nov. 4, and Monday, Nov. 7, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for all Active Duty Service Members and beneficiaries ages 18-64. The bivalent COVID-19 booster will also be offered so both can be administered in one stop.

The clinic will also offer the following opportunities to get the flu shot:
  • Flight surgeons will deliver shots to the aviation squadrons the last two weeks of October (Oct. 17-21 and 24-28).
  • Walk-in shots in Immunizations at the clinic starting Monday, Oct. 17, during normal clinic hours (7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Mondays-Tuesdays and Thursdays-Fridays and 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays). Shots will be available for kids and adults ages 6 months-64 years and 65+ years.
In addition to the flut shot being mandatory for Active Duty, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone older than 6 months get vaccinated against the flu to protect against severe illness. Getting the flu shot can help you, your family and your shipmates stay healthy this flu season. For more information, visit cdc.gov/flu.

*Contractors are not eligible to receive the flu shot from us unless they are a beneficiary OR the shot is a job requirement.*
