Fort Belvoir Community Hospital Launches Mobile Application for Patients

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) today announced the launch of a new mobile application for patients simply called the Belvoir Hospital app. Developed in coordination with the Defense Health Agency and FBCH Marketing, Belvoir Hospital app will serve as a one-touch patient experience, featuring centralized information and services that provide greater access to and utilization of health services offered in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).

"The Fort Belvoir Community Hospital app is a mobile gateway to the many services we provide at Belvoir Hospital. We hope, and believe, this will afford us the opportunity to continue to provide 'A Culture of Excellence' that has become the trademark of Fort Belvoir Community Hospital," said Tobin Morelli, Acting Marketing Chief and project manager for the mobile app. "We will continue to use innovative technology to engage patients while streamlining their experience within our MTF and its clinics."

Initial features of the Belvoir Hospital app include:

  • Telephone and contact information
  • Directions to parking
  • Visiting information
  • Secure Messaging link
  • Social media connectivity and push notifications
  • General wayfinding to include floorplans

Future updates to the app may include enhanced way finding, telemedicine, electronic health record integration, emergency management features, pharmacy wait times, alerts and the ability to schedule appointments directly from the app.

The Belvoir Hospital app is available today for free for iOS devices at the Apple App Store and for Android devices at the Google Play Store. Patients, as well as FBCH staff, are encouraged to download and try out the app.
